I love Open Studio weekend. People come from all over New England to drive/bike around Acton and check out what the local art community is up to. My sister, Jane, shows her work in my studio during this event, and my friend John Lindbeck sets up his art tent just outside. We let him come in occasionally to warm up. I hope you'll come by for a first, or a return visit this year! It's fine to just browse and enjoy the artwork, and it's fine to pick out a gift for yourself or a friend. I do accept Visa and MasterCard.
This pastel was selected for the Purchase Award at the WCSH6 Downtown Portland (Maine) Sidewalk Art Festival on Saturday. The scene is at the Farm Neck golf course on Martha's Vineyard. It's actually half of a diptych, but the award could be presented to only one painting. The painting was purchased by WCSH6-TV.
This Saturday I'll be exhibiting my work at South Portland Maine's Art in the Park, Mill Creek Park, South Portland. If it's a rainy day Art in the Park will be held on Sunday. I'll be in booth number 53. Hope to see you there!
The recent heat wave in our neck of the woods prompted me to stand at the easel and revive a pastel piece that I'd begun a while ago. I'm not sure this nearby, young apple orchard has seen such a snowstorm yet, but I look forward to seeing the white buildings in a swirl of cold, white flakes next winter!
