Downtown
Here's the oil version of a scene in downtown Andover, Massachusetts in the 1940s. Using a photo posted on Facebook by a fellow "townie" for reference, I have shamelessly channeled Edward Hopper. "Downtown", oil on wood panel, 24" x 24". Available.

A Work in Progress - Oil Pastel
I don't usually work in oil pastels, because I find them somewhat uncooperative. I'm learning to teach them who's boss though. This 12 x 12 work in progress is a submission for Casey Klahn's "Paint the Barn in Winter" Facebook group. Every month, Casey posts a photograph and artists are invited to interpret it in whatever medium they choose. I'll be working more on this one, but here's a start.

Ending Summer on an Up Note (or, tooting my own horn)

This pastel was selected for the Purchase Award at the WCSH6 Downtown Portland (Maine) Sidewalk Art Festival on Saturday. The scene is at the Farm Neck golf course on Martha's Vineyard. It's actually half of a diptych, but the award could be presented to only one painting. The painting was purchased by WCSH6-TV.
